The Dual Nature of Light

The dual nature of physical light revolutionized the thinking and perception of science in the last century, when the classical concept only allowed one or the other. Nowadays, scientists will no longer consider wave as wave only and particle as particle only.

Wave-particle duality is exploited in electron microscopy, where the small wavelengths associated with the electron can be used to view objects much smaller than we can see in visible light. Photons (light) are now able to show this dual nature, which may lead to new ways of examining and recording this behavior.[1]

The beauty in the characteristic of light reflects the glory of God through Jesus Christ. He is even far more supreme than physical light because He is the light of life (John 8:12) in the spiritual dimension. He has the dual nature of both God and man. This revelation seems even more difficult to understand than the physical nature of the dual property of light as both wave and particle.

If the new concept of light blew the mind of the scientists last century, people were even more amazed to learn that Jesus Christ was both God and man.

We need wisdom to understand one of the most important natures related to God and Jesus Christ. As mentioned by a MIT professor and a plasma physicist, Ian Hutchinson, “Elaborate analogy and metaphor are essential to convey the theological significance of our relationship to Christ.”[2]

For example, on a human level, it is correct to say that I have both my father and mother’s natures. The dual nature can be seen not only partly in my external appearance but also my internal character. I do carry the genes of both of my parents. That I like to think of and evaluate new ideas and concepts resembles my mother’s side. I also have the appearance of and I function like my father’s side. Of course, I developed my own character and distinct passions to do things as I grew up. The foundation, however, started from the dual nature of my father and mother when I was born.

Back to the divine level, because Jesus Christ has the dual nature of God and men, He can open the channel of communication between the divine wisdom and human beings. That is why the key to building a valid relationship with God is through God’s Word. Jesus Christ is the Living Word of God as revealed from the Bible. Later, we will further discuss the communication of Jesus Christ to human beings using the T transform we covered before. This will give you a map to help find the treasure of meeting Jesus Christ, as told in Bible verses. If you can communicate back to Jesus Christ, your spiritual eye will be opened to see how real and amazing the Creator and Redeemer is.

“In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son [Jesus Christ], whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.”[3]
